Boardroom Furniture Guide

Boardrooms fail in predictable ways: tables too big for the room, chairs that argue with the table, and cables snaking to a projector nobody can reach. The fixes are equally predictable — a boardroom is a maths problem before it's a style problem. Here's the arithmetic.

Table size: the seat-count formula

Allow 75–80cm of table edge per seated person, and 1.2m minimum between table edge and wall so chairs pull out and people pass behind them. So: an 8-seater wants roughly a 2.4m table in a room at least 4.8m long. Our mahogany H2410 and Q1206 conference tables anchor the classic executive boardroom; used oval boardroom tables in the Gallery suit budget fit-outs.

Chairs that belong at the table

Boardroom chairs should share DNA with the table — wooden-arm visitor chairs (President, Concord) beside mahogany, sleeker mesh beside modern tables. Buy one more chair than the table seats; someone always brings a colleague. If the boardroom doubles as a training room, stackable chairs plus a lighter table trade formality for flexibility.

The wall and the wiring

A magnetic whiteboard on the long wall earns its place in every meeting; size it so the far end of the table can read it. Plan power before the table arrives — where laptops charge, where the screen connects — because a boardroom table is not a piece you shift later to reach a plug.

Match the executive office

Clients often walk from the executive office to the boardroom in one visit; matching finishes make that walk seamless. Our mahogany boardroom tables pair directly with the executive desk range for exactly this reason.

Ordering the room

Send us the room dimensions and how many the boardroom must seat. We'll confirm the table size that genuinely fits, pair the chairs, add the board, and quote it as one delivered package — the whole room, done once, done right.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size boardroom table seats 10?

Roughly 3m of table in a room at least 5.4m long — 75–80cm of edge per person plus pull-back space. If the room is smaller, seat 8 comfortably rather than 10 badly.

Can I mix a used table with new chairs?

A very sensible combination — used boardroom tables are excellent value and chairs wear faster anyway. Match the finish family and nobody will ever know.

Do you deliver and assemble boardroom tables?

Yes — large tables are delivered, placed and assembled in the room. Measure the access route (doors, lifts, stairwells) and mention anything tight when ordering.
